តើអ្នកនឹងពណ៌នាអំពីបទពិសោធន៍របស់អ្នកនៅសាលា UWC ដែលអ្នកបានទៅរៀនយ៉ាងដូចម្តេចដែរ?

Question 1: 

How would you describe your experience at the UWC school you attended?

នៅពេលដែលខ្ញុំនិយាយពី UWCSEA ខ្ញុំតែងសំដៅទីកន្លែងនោះជាកន្លែងមួយដែលរបត់ជីវិតរបស់ខ្ញុំចាប់ផ្តើម។ វាបានបើកទ្វារពិភពលោករបស់ខ្ញុំទៅកាន់កន្លែងមួយដែលខុសប្លែកពីអ្វីដែលខ្ញុំធ្លាប់ជួបប្រទះកន្លងមកពេលដែលខ្ញុំនៅប្រទេសខ្មែរ។
វាបានលុតដំខ្ញុំតាំងពីខ្ញុំនៅក្មេង។ ការព្យាយាមសម្របខ្លួនទៅនឹងបរិយាកាសថ្មីមួយក្នុង រយៈពេល ២-៣ ខែដំបូងគឺពិតជាឧបសគ្គដ៏លំបាកបំផុតដែលខ្ញុំត្រូវឆ្លងកាត់។ បន្ទាប់ពីខ្ញុំរកឃើញទីលំនឹងរបស់ខ្ញុំ បានហើយ វាក៏ចាប់ផ្តើមបង្ហាញកាន់តែច្បាស់ថា នេះជាការសំរេចចិត្តដ៏ត្រឹមត្រូវ ហើយខ្ញុំចាប់ផ្តើមពេញចិត្ត នឹងព្យាយាមបន្ថែមទៀត។ សរុបសេចក្តីមក
បទពិសោធន៍ UWC របស់ខ្ញុំគឺពិតមានឧបសគ្គច្រើន ក៏ប៉ុន្តែវាក៏ផ្តល់ នូវផ្លែផ្កាជាច្រើននៅពេលតែមួយនោះដែរ។

I often refer to UWCSEA as a place that started my current life trajectory. It opened up my world to a place that was totally different from what I had been used to back in Cambodia. It challenged me as a young person at the time. Trying to get used to a new environment in the first couple of months was undoubtedly the most challenging task that I had to go through.  After I found my footing, it became clear that it was the right decision and I started to enjoy it and thrive. To sum up, my UWC experience was challenging but rewarding at the same time.

Question 2: 

What did you learn about yourself and the world around you during and after UWC?

UWCគឺជាព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ផ្លាស់ប្តូរជីវិតរបស់ខ្ញុំ។ ខ្ញុំពិតមិនអាចក្លាយជាខ្ញុំសព្វថ្ងៃនេះទេប្រសិនបើគ្មាន UWC។ ខ្ញុំរៀនសម្របខ្លួនទៅតាមស្ថានភាពដែលខ្ញុំបានប្រឈមជាមួយ។ សំខាន់បំផុតនោះគឺ វាបានផ្តល់ឲ្យខ្ញុំនូវ ទំនុកចិត្តមួយ ដែលខ្ញុំជឿថាខ្ញុំអាចធ្វើអ្វីគ្រប់យ៉ាងក្នុងជីវិតរបស់ខ្ញុំ។

UWC was a life-changing event. I would not be who I am today without it. I learned to be adaptable in almost every situation that I was in. Most importantly, it gave me the confidence to believe that I could do anything in life.

Question 3: 

Why should young Cambodians apply for the UWC Scholarships?

ចំពោះកូនខ្មែរដែលមកពីគ្រួសារក្រីក្រ ឱកាសសិក្សាទៅនៅបរទេសគឺជាឱកាសមួយដើម្បីធ្វើឲ្យជីវិតពួកគេនិងគ្រួសារពួកគេកាន់តែប្រសើរឡើង។ សំរាប់ខ្លួនខ្ញុំផ្ទាល់ ខ្ញុំបានដឹងថាវាប្រាកដណាស់ជាឱកាសផ្លាស់ប្តូរជីវិតប្រសិនបើខ្ញុំបានទៅសិក្សានៅក្រៅប្រទេស។ លើសពីនេះទៀតនោះ ខ្ញុំក៏ចង់ឲ្យឱកាសខ្លួនឯងដើម្បីជួយគ្រួសារខ្ញុំឲ្យកាន់តែប្រសើរឡើង។ គំនិតរបស់ខ្ញុំនៅពេលនោះគឺខ្ញុំគិតថាអាហារូបករណ៍មិនត្រឹមតែបើកទ្វារឲ្យខ្ញុំទៅកាន់ការអប់រំលំដាប់ថ្នាក់ពិភពលោកនោះទេ ប៉ុន្តែក៏ជាការត្រៀមខ្លួនខ្ញុំឲ្យក្លាយជាមនុស្សម្នាក់ដែលមានបំនិនគ្រប់ជ្រុងជ្រោយក្នុងជីវិត។ ជាចុងក្រោយ UWC ជាកន្លែងមួយដែលអ្នកនឹងអាចរៀនអំពីពិភពលោក រៀនអំពីបរិស្ថាននៅជុំវិញខ្លួនអ្នក ហើយសំខាន់បំផុតនោះគឺ រៀនអំពីខ្លួនឯង។ អ្នកនឹងស្ពាយមេរៀនទាំងនេះជាប់ខ្លួនគ្រប់ទីកន្លែងដែលអ្នកនឹងទៅក្នុងជីវិតជាមួយនឹងស្នាមញញឹម។

Like many young Cambodians who are from poor families, an opportunity to study abroad is a way to better themselves and their families. Personally, I knew that it would be a life-changing event if I got the opportunity to study abroad. In addition, I wanted to give myself the chance to improve my family life. My thinking at the time was that the scholarship would not just open up the door for me to be educated from a world-class institution but would also prepare me to be a more well-rounded individual.

In addition, UWC gave me the opportunity to connect with many amazing people from all around the world. Some of them are my life-long friends. This network of people is something that is hard to find anywhere else. I know that no matter which country/city/town I am in, I will likely find some UWC people who live or work there and are helping improve people’s lives. 

Lastly, UWC is a place where you will learn about the world, about the environment around you, and most importantly, about yourself. You will carry these lessons with you wherever you go next in life with a smile.
